I am a special educator in a self-contained classroom. Last year was the first time I ever taught math. Math has always been my ultimate weakness and I did not know how to teach my students. After searching on You Tube for videos on how to teach subtraction with regrouping, I discovered "Teaching Tip Tuesdays". I watched all of them over a period of three days and took a ton of notes. As soon as I had the opportunity, I joined the Math Intervention Academy. Learning about teaching the conceptual before the standard made a huge difference in my lessons last year and has had an even bigger impact on my students this year. The resources, webinars, and workshops have made a huge impact on my teaching, especially learning about the vertical alignment. It helps me know how to level my students and how to individualize my instruction. And I am very thankful to Michelle for her resources and all I have learned from her.

I have learned so much about Intervention just by participating in the Math Intervention Academy. I am able to better assess, do small groups, and look at my student's gaps in learning. This has enabled me to be more explicit in my instruction. Thank you so much, Michelle.
